Managing Director, Integrated Production
- At the Kaplan Thaler Group since:
- Day One
- What I do:
- It’s my -- as well as my terrific team's -- job to take our creatives’ imaginative concepts and make them a reality for our clients.
- What I've done:
- According to Linda, I’ve “walked on water” more than a few times. (Well, I always did enjoy the beach.) I’ve liked the discipline, the order, and, I guess, essentially the control, of every project throughout my career. I suppose I could have just as easily chosen to run a highly functional three-ring circus. But, I think I’ll stay put.
- Life-changing moment:
- The first time I was nominated for a Clio, the awards ceremony was cancelled just as it got underway (long story). Though most of the audience stormed the stage to grab an award, I didn’t. I just sat there crushed and in shock. Eventually, I did receive that Clio—plus many other awards down the road— but, they’re actually all collecting dust in my basement. That’s because it turns out they’re not what truly matters to me. What does matter is that when the job is done, it’s done well by my standards. And then for the client to say, “well done,” too.
